Search the company by name or ABN, or open its profile from the list on this page to see its licence number, classes and status. Then confirm the licence on the Queensland Building and Construction Commission's own register before you sign or pay a deposit, because registers change daily.

52 companies on the Gold Coast hold a licence with a building inspection class, and 52 of them show a current licence as of 24 September 2026. Sole traders are not listed, only companies and trusts.

In Queensland, most building work valued over $3,300, including labour and materials, must be carried out by a contractor holding a QBCC licence of the right class. Some work needs a licence at any value, including plumbing and drainage, fire protection, building design and site classification.

By number of companies: Completed Residential Building Inspection (48) and Site Classifier (2). The class has to cover the work in your contract.

That the licence is current and its class covers the work, that it is held by the business named on the contract and invoice (not a director or a related company), that the ABN is active, and that you hold current insurance certificates.
